Rune's World Update, Nov 5 2001 Rune's World is updated again! http://rsj.mobilixnet.dk It's been a little while since the last newsletter, and it's not even like I have made a whole lot of updates in that time... But anyway, there's one update on the Animation Experiments page. I'm currently working on a new project: An animation walking system! When fed with the right data, it can automatically make something walk along a specified path with no foot slippage at all, and the feet will also adapt to the terrain. My first real test was making a crawling spider. Have a look at the animation at: http://rsj.mobilixnet.dk/3d/anims/anims.html There have been one other update since the last newsletter: On September 26 I made a new include file for POV-Ray. The Fast Grass Include File lets you create textures that look like grass. Using some special tricks the grass appears to have depth even though the textures are flat. The advantages are that it's really fast compared to creating grass using actual objects, and that it looks really nice at a distance. The disadvantages are that it doesn't look right in a close-up view and that it doesn't work for animations where the camera is moving. The Fast Grass Include File is available from here: http://rsj.mobilixnet.dk/3d/include/include.html As always, I appreciate feedback from you, so please drop me an e-mail and tell me what you think! :) Regards, Rune --- You have received this newsletter because you at some point have registered to Rune's World Updates.
